Smile Revision Help

The biggest tip I can offer all those who are preparing for exams is:

Don't worry about what anyone else is doing. If others are revising more (or less) don't panic. Devise a plan that is right for you. It will be you taking the test not your best mate.

Perhaps some other tutors/students can offer some advice

Don't spend so much time planning your revision that you don't do any. Don't laugh it happens. Don't spend all the christmas hols planning and not actually doing any revision. It should take you no more than a day to plan out your revision.

Ooh good idea totbgirl

Take lots of breaks (but not too many) Make sure you schedule some breaks in your revision. It helps. Don't work for more than an hour at a time. I used to do 50min and have a 10min break for long stretches of revision.

Set yourself some goals and have a treat when you reach them. Sweeties and treats (time playing the computer or watching TV) can give you something to look forward to and also give you a break.

Get a huge jar of lollypops! A lollypop in my mouth stops me gettting up for a snack or a treat when I should be working. It also stops you eating too many sweets (if you suck slowly!!)
i had 100 lollypops when I was doing my GCSEs

Make sure that you find a quite organised space to work in. Nobody can concentrate revising in front of the TV with all your work piled on your lap.

Not even the genuises amoung you!

Don't stay up all night the night before revising. You may think you are cramming the maximum in, but being ivertired will not help you at all. In fact you are better off going to be early (that is if you can sleep)
