Default UK parents worry more about education than sex life

I think that they may have sensationalised this a little. But the premise is interesting. Perhaps this is why so many get tutors. The investment in education seems to be money well spent for parents.

That makes me laugh. I expect very few parents lay down the law about sex but most of my students have very pushy parents when it come to education. University is the be all and end all and there is no other option. God forbid one of them wanted to do a vocational job like hairdressing!

All parents want what is best for their children, unfortunately some parents want to live a voyeristic life through their kids. Life is worth living if little jonny hasn't done anything to skite about this week. Those blasted round robins that I get a documentary evidence.

Parents seem to put an incredible amount of pressure on dear Johnny and Jane when it comes to exam time. Just getting those results and getting a good job is placed way above whether the kids ar eactually happy.

I don't know whose parent they asked. If I failed my exams I could always retake. If I came home with an STD or worse pregnant my parents would actually disown me. My mother is paranoid about who I spend what time with an where. It is more irritaing than her being overbearing about exams.

Well most of the time the parents feel that its their obligation to get the best of tutors and help score more to get noticed in school.
However this is not only in UK but a trend all over the world.

I agree with Chantelle, I would rather my son came home saying that he had botched up his GCSE's than if he told me he had got a girl pregnant at 16!
