Default How far ahead should you be to tutor?

I'm thinking of tutoring when I go to uni. How far ahaead do you need to be and do kids like to be taught by prople who have only just stopped being kids themselves.

I would say you need to have done A-level to tutor GCSE. BUt I think there is a lot to be said about a teaching qualification. Even something as simple as a TEFL qualification will help you understand how people learn.

Unless you are a peer tutor. I tutored GCSE whilst I was still in my GCSE year. IT was a school innititive. Great way to earn some extra cash and to consolidate your own learnning. More schools should do something similar.
