Question What makes you a good tutor?

What qualities do you posses that makes you a good tutor? No need to be modest. I don't mean it to sound like an interview question!

A sense of humour, consistency and enthusiasm for my subject. Enthusiasm can be infectious. I also love the kids. Watching them learn gives me a sense of pride.

Patience patience patience. It is what people do not get in a formal learning environment. I think it is one of the most important qualities of a tutor.

I agree with pi_man, patience is the key. A little bit of originality and a sense of fun helps! Also a good knowledge of the subject to a level that far exceedes the level at which you are tutoring.

Perhaps the students should be asked this question.
Here's another for students: "If there was one thing that you could change about your good tutor to make them better, what would that be?"
