Question Cancellation Policy

I have had a cancelation policy that roughly goes: If you don't have a good reason to cancel and you don't give me enough notice I will charge you. I know I shoud firm it up but I haven't really needed it.

My question is this does it work in reverse. My lovely boy has been unwell over the last few days and I have had to stay home and with him as he won't settle with anyone else. I let everybody know and blocked out my week untill sunday, but what about the kids I had to let down today (they have exams in Jan I am not really that mean)?

Any thoughts?

This is difficult. I know what you mean. I charge a cancellation fee unless they are sick. And I suppose it should work the other way around. I doubt it does though.

Hope the boy is okay.

The boy has got measles, which is a nightmare because now I have to check with everyone to see if they have had it or have been vacinated plus I am offically getting no sleep!

Your policy is better than mine. I think I will adopt it.

I have a very similar one to Sally's I think it is the most sensible option. You can expect people to pay if they fall ill.

Pi_man,

is that a typo. Surely you mean you can't expect people to pay if they fall ill. And how ill is too ill not to do a session? Colds don't count in my book!

So the measles has spread. Now I have it. When it was just my six month old it was not fun, now it is really rubbish. The worst thing is I have had to ask my A level tutees to either not be tutored or risk getting the measles. Any help? Should I get someone else in to help them. . . . hmm an idea for a new thread I think.

Being sick seems like a good reason to cancel. Otherwise the 24hrs payment should have to work both ways.
