Question Accounting software for self employed

Does anyone use acounting software? I only use a simple excell spreadsheet at the moment. Is this good enough? should I be using something else? All the software seems a little expensive. Buying a leading brank would basically eat up a weeks earnings so I wan to know if it is worth it.

Any ideas? Any Advice?

Unless you are runnig a tutoring empire or have a premises etc stick to excel. You won't be earning enough (I assume) to make it worth wour while. If yo are desperate to get away from a simple cash book try some of the free software available first.

You must be earning a fortune or have way toomuch time on your hands to entertain getting an expensive package like that. My partner is an accountant and she says that most of them are too complicated for what needs to be recorded. I think you should just stick to excel.

Thanks guys that is really helpful! I'm not earning big bucks so I shall just stick to excel. It's interesting though to see how much software there is out there. What sort of turnover would warrant something like that?
