Question Tutoring Friend's Kids

DO you tutor the kids of friends. Or maybe for you undergrads your friends. Does it ork out. I one tried to tutor my sister (under edict from my mother) it didn't work well. Perhaps this is nit the same though. I'm sure it is okay but I would imagine it could get a litlle dicey if their little darling fails their exam.

Never mix business and friendship. aside from the odd occasion you should always recommend somone else. It is a sure fire way to fall out with friends. It also blurs the friendship lines when you a getting paid by a friend.

I would only tutor a friend's kid if you are prepared to do it for free. If you are being paid by your friend all sorts of issues can arise. Never mix friends in money. It is equivalent to the edict never loan money to friends if you are not prepared to not get it back.

Depends on the friend. I would rather ruin a firndship by trying than by refusing to help. Still I think I have helped out with nearly all my friends' kids at one point or another. Don't accept payment unless it will be a longstanding arrangement.

I would love it if my friends who are teachers would offer to help. But I don't think my son would. It is already bad enough that he needs a tutor (apparently), the whole world don't need to know about it. I'm sure he thinks I don't talk to my friends!
